Williams Racing

Great Britain

Williams Racing are nine-time Constructors’ Champions and one of the most storied names in Formula 1 history. Under the ownership of Dorilton Capital since 2020, the team has been methodically rebuilding toward competitiveness, and the 2026 regulation change represents their best opportunity in over a decade to return to the sharp end of the grid.

The signing of Carlos Sainz alongside Alexander Albon was a statement of intent. Sainz brings race-winning experience and intimate knowledge of what a front-running operation looks like from his years at Ferrari. Albon provides continuity, development expertise, and a deep understanding of the Williams engineering culture. Together, they form a driver lineup that exceeds what many midfield teams can offer.

Williams’ use of Mercedes power units continues in 2026, giving them access to proven, competitive technology while they focus investment on chassis and aerodynamic performance. The team’s Grove factory has seen substantial upgrades, including a new wind tunnel and expanded simulation capability.

The romance of Williams’ story adds a layer of narrative that few teams can match. From the days of Mansell, Prost, Senna, and Hill to the difficult years of decline, the team’s journey back carries the goodwill of the entire paddock. A competitive Williams would be welcomed by fans and rivals alike.

British fans can follow Williams at their home race at Silverstone in July, with the sprint format providing extra action across the weekend. The 15:00 BST Sunday start is perfectly timed for the British summer.
